For Day 6 of our Advent Calendar Tree Joshua received a note about it being the season for Zoolights at the Oregon Zoo.

We went in the late afternoon during normal zoo hours as the lights started to be turned on and evening started to set in.

Darkness sure settled in quickly after the sun set. Then the lights really started to pop!

We ate a fun dinner in the AfriCafe and then it was really dark outside!

We ended the evening with one of Joshua’s favorites parts of going to the zoo – the Carousel!

For Day 5 of our Advent Calendar Tree Joshua was given a present with Finger Lights! We have been doing Christmas Light “Hunting” after dinner most evenings recently, and we all proudly wore Finger Lights on our hunt this evening. Our weather have shifted to be dry (quite cold, but no rain), which is much more pleasant for tromping around the neighborhood than the rain we experienced over the weekend!

For Day 4 of our Advent Calendar Tree Joshua got a note about unwrapping a present under the tree! We don’t have the real tree yet, but we have a small artificial tree upstairs. Under the tree was a wrapped package with some little mittens for fun, wintery things!

For Day 3 of our Advent Calendar Tree Joshua got a note about turning on the fire, getting in his pajamas, grabbing a blanket, and watching [part of…] a Christmas movie!

Mommy threw in some watered-down apple cider too!

For Day 2 of our Advent Calendar Tree Joshua got a note about getting to see Santa and Rudolph… or maybe Sven!

 

We went to see Santa at a Garden Center nearby.

Joshua was much more into it this year than either of his prior years. And Elliott is too young to be scared yet this year, so these worked out pretty well!

We sure tuckered our little Elliott out!
